Warm Winter Wishes

Well, I've proven to myself today that if given 15 minutes you can create a simple, pretty card.  Sometimes I think I over think my cardmaking - today I gave myself a time limit and am really happy with the results!  I've also decided that for this years Winter/Christmas cards I want to try new and unique color combo's.  Christmas is no longer the traditional red, green, and gold - although those colors work beautiful together so do many many others.  I hope to inspire some to think outside the box these Holidays!

Supplies:

Stamp sets: Serene Silhouettes, Winter Memories
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pool Party
Ink: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black markers, Cherry Cobbler 3 1/2" Scalloped Ribbon Tulle, 3/16" corner punch, sponges, sticky strip, snail

Cut card base 4 1/4" x 11" in Pool Party.  Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4 1/4" x 2 1/2".  Sponge Baja Breeze along the bottom of the cardstock.  Sponge Pretty in Pink along the top of the cardstock, sponging to meet the Baja Breeze.  Along the top edge of the cardstock, sponge Perfect Plum.  With the bird and branch stamp from the Serene Silhouette set ink the branches with a Basic Black marker and the birds with a Cherry Cobbler marker.  Stamp slightly off center on the white cardstock.  Add highlights to the birds with the Cherry Cobbler marker.  With snail adhere to the top of the Pool Party base.
With Basic Black ink stamp the "Warm Winter Wishes" sentiment from the Winter Memories stamp set onto the bottom left of the card base.
Tie a double bow from Cherry Cobbler scalloped ribbon tulle and adhere to where the two pieces of cardstock meet with sticky strip.  Round the corners of the card base with a corner punch.

Before I sign off I just had to share a few Halloween pictures from last night!  The boys had a blast dressing up!

Frankenstein and Spiderman!

A very excited Spiderman and one of the cutest little devils around!
Have a great day everyone!  Until my next post...

Your card is beautiful! I can't do a card in 15 minutes, it takes me that long to decide what paper(s) to use! Also, your pumpkins look fantastic and those costumes are adorable!
