Happy Trails to You...

Hiya!

I'm craving summer and everything it has to offer (minus the bugs of course!) as of late.  Even though we've had a warmer than average winter with little snowfall I can't wait for the green!  I also can't wait for those amazing summer sunsets; so much so that I decided to recreate one of my own with this card for a couple of close friends who recently moved away.  I so wish you could see it in person because the colors look much more vivid in real life than I can ever get the camera to capture!

Here's a quick how to:
  1. Begin by blocking off the bottom portion of a piece of Whisper White card stock with a torn post it note.
  2. Sponge Crushed Curry ink along the top edge of the post it note, concentrating the color in the center of the image.
  3. Sponge Pumpkin Pie on the upper area of the Crushed Curry and sponging all the way to the edges of the card stock.
  4. Sponge a small amount of Watermelon Wonder and Cherry Cobbler together, blending into the Pumpkin Pie.
  5. Sponge Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant in the same manner as Step #4
  6. To add a small highlight to the upper portion of the sky, sponge Island Indigo.
  7. With a second torn post it note add "clouds" to the sky with Elegant Eggplant and Cherry Cobbler ink.
  8. Stamp the mountain image from the stamp set In the Meadow along the left edge of the card stock over the post it note.
  9. Remove the post it note.  Using a Basic Black marker, color in the mountain range and the ground area (I've found this gives me better ink coverage than a sponge and ink).
  10. Add another image in the foreground.  In this case I cut a cowboy from Basic Black using my Silhouette Cameo but a tree or grassy image would look wonderful too!
Supplies:

Stamp Set: In the Meadow
Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Lost Lagoon
Ink: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Watermelon Wonder, Cherry Cobbler, Rich Razzleberry, Elegant Eggplant, Island Indigo, Momento Tuxedo Black
Markers: Basic Black
Accessories: Post it Notes, Multi-purpose liquid glue, Stampin' Dimensionals, Silhouette Cameo

I hope you've enjoyed this quick tutorial!  If you are interested in seeing a video tutorial on a technique like this, please let me know.  It's been ages since I've done a video and I think this might be a good one to use as a teaching tool.

See you all again soon!
