Campfire Birthday

I'm slowly working on a few new ideas in my card room today but thought I would share a few highlights of my son's 3rd birthday party in the meantime.  I created the invites using My Digital Studio using the stamp set Under the Stars and Big Bold Birthday.  After I printed the invitations I added some color with my Stampin' Write markers.  Super simple and so fast to make using MDS!

Of course no campfire would be complete without a yummy S'more!  I made up goody bags with all the fixings to make a S'more at home, printed instructions in MDS, and added the S'more from the Under the Stars stamp set to finish it off.  I added glow sticks and flashlights to the goody bags so the kids could light up the night when it got dark. :)

I found the idea for this cake on Pinterest and knew I had to make it simply because it fit so well with the campfire theme.  The cake itself was Chocolate Fudge with marshmallow filling and chocolate butter cream icing.  The fire 'logs' are hazelnut rolled wafers and the 'flames' are melted red, yellow, and orange life savers that I broke into flame shapes when cool.  Rock candy scattered around the base and 'roasting' marshmallows on skewers finishes it all off!

I just had to throw this picture in - all the men cooking! LOL

Overall we had a great time with perfect weather and wonderful friends and family to share it with!  We are truly blessed and can't wait to do it all again next year!!

Thanks so much for looking!

Awwww...how utterly adorable! The little goodie bags sounded darling - the s'mores kit turned out great and all kids love flashlights and glow sticks. Your decorated cake is amazing, you totally ROCKED that camping theme.
