My Little Pony Birthday

Whenever I get the opportunity to create for a little girl I must say I get a little giddy LOL.  The options and colors seem endless after the trucks and tractors I deal with on a daily basis!

I couldn't decide what I wanted to create when I began this card.  I tried a few different ideas but quickly cast them aside for future use when the idea of My Little Pony popped into my head.  I decided on 'Twilight Sparkle' (don't you just love their names??) and got down to work with my punches in tow.  Here's how I did it:

Supplies:

Stamp sets: Create a Cupcake
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Basic Black, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limenade, Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler, Specialty Sweet Shop DSP (retired)
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo, Lucky Limenade, Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black
Markers: Always Artichoke, Island Indigo, Basic Black, Wisteria Wonder
Accessories: Build a Cupcake punch, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, 1/2" circle punch,
1 1/4" circle punch, small oval punch, large oval punch, white gel pen, sponges, brayer, Tombow multi purpose liquid adhesive, snail adhesive, Stampin' dimensionals

Pony:
Body: large oval punch (Wisteria Wonder)
Legs: Word Window punch, trimmed to shape (Wisteria Wonder)
Neck: small oval punch (Wisteria Wonder)
Head: 1 1/4" circle punch (Wisteria Wonder)
Ears: small oval punch, trimmed (Wisteria Wonder)
Eyes: 1/2" circle punch, trimmed. (Whisper White) Center of eye is the largest circle from the owl punch (Rich Razzleberry)
Horn: small oval punch trimmed to shape (Wisteria Wonder)
Mane on top of head: Large oval punch, trimmed to shape (Island Indigo)
Neck mane: body of owl punch (Island Indigo)
Tail: Large oval punch trimmed (Island Indigo)
Stripes on mane were cut free hand to fit in Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry
Before assembling, use a sponge and co-ordinating ink to highlight the edges of each piece to add dimension.  After assembling, highlight areas such as eyes and mane with a white gel pen and co-ordinating markers.

Cupcake was created with the Build a Cupcake punch.  The tree trunk was drawn freehand; tree top is the top of the cupcake from the Build a Cupcake punch, with cherries added in Cherry Cobbler from the same punch.

Background was created by first tearing post it notes and masking the bottom of the cardstock.  Sky was brayered with Tempting Turquoise then Island Indigo.  Mask was then moved randomly across the bottom of the cardstock while sponging with Lucky Limenade and Wild Wasabi to create the hills.

See you soon!  Thanks so much for looking!
