Holiday Home Pop-Up Cards

Hi All!

What a crazy week this has been!  This post was supposed to go up on Monday and somehow I've arrived at Thursday incredibly behind...why must life get in the way of crafting I ask?? ;)

A few weeks ago I was asked to make some Christmas party invites.  I said yes straight away and got busy making a couple of samples to choose from.  In the end these little Holiday Home pop up cards were the winner; a lot of work but oh so cute!  I managed to make 40 of these (yes, 40) in the span of about 3 days.  Creating in assembly line style made everything run smoothly and quickly and let me tell ya, my sponging night sky/snow bank  skills got REALLY good LOL!  I used all three of the Holiday Home houses in the set; you can find those photos below along with the front of the invite.

Supplies:

Stamp Sets: Holiday Home, White Christmas, Make a Wish
Card Stock: Whisper White, Bashful Blue (retired)
Ink: Marina Mist, Lost Lagoon, Night of Navy, So Saffron, Memento Tuxedo Black, Whisper White Craft
Big Shot: Northern Flurry EF, Homemade Holiday Framelits
Markers: Old Olive, Coastal Cabana, Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral Blendabilities, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake
Accessories: 3/16" Corner Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, White Gel Pen, White Stampin' Chalk Marker, Iridescent Ice embossing powder, Versa Mark pen, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Sponges, Utility Knife, Post it Notes, Mini Glue Dots, Multi-purpose liquid glue

At the time I was making these I was so focused on the task at hand that I didn't take any photos of creating the background.  If anyone is interested in seeing a tutorial on how I created the night sky background, please leave me a comment below and I'll try get it posted as quickly as I can.  It's perfect for all those Christmas cards that still need to get made!

I'm off to get a little more catching up done.  Hopefully I'll have another post up tomorrow to end out the week!  Have a wonderful day...

Even though I am very good at sponging and probably could figure out how you did yours, I would still love to see a tutorial from your perspective...and I am sure many others will appreciate it! TFS! I love your cards!
