Hello Everyone!
With Valentine's Day only a few days away I thought I'd share the Valentine I made for my youngest son. He's currently entranced with Jake & The Neverland Pirates so I used that as my jumping off point and created Jake's Treasure Chest!
Most elements I cut by hand; including the shape of the treasure chest and Jake's sword which decorates the front of the chest. Instead of using plain card stock I dressed up the edges and details with Gold Glimmer paper; a perfect addition to a Treasure Chest! After making the chest I still felt like something was missing so I added Jake's parrot, Skully perched atop. I think he turned out sooo cute - right down to his skull hat! Here's a peek at the inside of the card...
As you've probably noticed the card isn't meant to stand upright like a standard card. This could be easily fixed by adding a small stand at the back or adding another bottom layer attached at the hinge point.
I can't wait to see what he says when he opens it on Sunday! I'm pretty sure I've struck gold with this one!

I'll be back next week to share some exciting new punch art with you! And here's a hint - its LEGO themed! Hope to see you then :)
