I'm sharing a great card fold today over at Splitcoast Stampers called the Envelope Card fold. I hope you can stop by and check it out!
I stumbled upon this card fold just before Christmas and made a few as teacher gifts (click HERE to see that post). This time around I was much more finicky with the die cuts and punch art (I even used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a few pieces!) Here's a few detail photos of my Alice in Wonderland creation:
This is the card folded closed. I've added the lock on the front not only as a detail but also as a way to seal the envelope. On the backside of the envelope I glued a die cut label as a way to add an address to the envelope for mailing.
The "flap" of the outside of the envelope becomes an area to write a message on the inside. I added a cut out of The Queen of Hearts to use up some of the white space.
A look at the inside portion of the card. You'll find the Mad Hatter, Alice, the Rabbit, and the infamous Red Roses along the front fold of the card while the back panels are filled with tea cups and laughing flowers. The left hand front panel of the card was the perfect spot for a tree, a clock, and of course the Cheshire cat.
Small details add the finishing touches to the card. Small tags with hand written labels "Eat me" and "Drink me" hang from the tree branches and one of the tea cup handles.
Photos of this card were extremely hard to take. No matter how I adjusted the card or camera I just couldn't capture the dimensional detail.
