Desktop Organizer Project

TGIF!

Wowsers its been a crazy week around here!  I've been working like mad trying to catch up on various cards, projects, and tutorials to share with you in the upcoming weeks; as well as getting ready for my son's birthday party this weekend.  I can't wait to share it all!  And because its a brand new month, Stampin' Up! has a few exciting new things to share as well - let's get started!

Today's share is the final project I submitted into the Artisan Awards.  I once again factored in the fact that I was mailing these projects a long way so I wanted it to be a fairly light weight project.  The idea is really quite simple - a store bought frame with the glass removed then layers of fabric sewn together to create pockets for all those miscellaneous items that always seem to get lost on a desk.  Functional and pretty to look at with a fabric flower (to see a step by step tutorial on how to make your own, click HERE) to finish it all off!

Supplies:

Stamp Sets: N/A
Cardstock: N/A
Classic Ink: N/A
Big Shot: Fun Flowers Die

Additional: Brights Designer Buttons, Tea For Two Designer Fabric, Sewing Machine, Thread to Match Fabric, Hot Glue Gun, 8” x 10” Frame w/o Glass

Now on to all the exciting new things!  August 1st was the launch of the new Holiday catalog!
It's FULL of new products and ideas for the Fall and Winter season!  I've already had a chance to play with some of the new products; in fact all the projects I've created for this month's U Stamp with Dawn & Friends Heating Up the Holidays feature products from this new catty!  I'll be sharing them here on my blog over the next while, but if you'd like to see over 40+ other projects by various talented designers click on the Heating Up the Holidays blinkie in the left hand sidebar to be redirected.  If you'd like to browse the new Holiday Catalog there is a link in the left sidebar as well - just click on the photo of the catalog.  The catalog runs until January 1st, but place your orders soon to get a head start on all those Holiday projects!!

The first of each month also means a new Best of 25 Years set - this month its Best of Halloween.
I'm pretty sure my sister is bouncing off her seat about now - Halloween has always been her favorite and I must say I'll be picking up this set for myself too.  They chose the perfect images to bring back - I've got ideas like crazy for that tree with the owl perched in it!  Keep in mind that these sets retail for $17.95 and are available only until March 2014.  When you collect 6 proof of purchase Best of Sets stickers they can be redeemed for a free stamp set from the current catalogs with a maximum retail value of $17.95!

One more exciting product to share with you today!  Brand new Thinlits Card Dies!  Just what is this you ask?  It's the perfectly simple way to create a flip card with a die that does all the scoring and cutting for you in one step!
Want to see it all in action?  Watch this video to see how easy it is to use these new dies to create beautiful interactive cards!
Excited? Me too!  I'll be adding these gems to my next order for sure!

I'll see you all back here next week!  I hope you have a wonderful and safe weekend!
