Lego Movie Card in a Box

Hello!

While many of you might be in full force Wedding season, around these parts were right in the middle of kidlet Birthday season!  And, with two boys, that means a lot of boy themed cards are on the way for your viewing pleasure ;)

The boys have been lovin' the Lego Movie and since it came out on DVD its been on constant repeat.  I know many mom's of little girls out there have the "Let it Go" song from Frozen still swimming around in their brain but can I get a shout out from the mom's of boys who can't get "Everything is Awesome" out of their heads??!!  I'm beginning to think that song has subliminal messaging in it cause I find myself humming or singing it randomly (ie: laundry, dishes, while having a bath...**sigh**).

Anyhow, since the movie is so darn popular I thought I'd give Emmet a try in punch art form.  There are a few other examples on the internet but I'd like to think mine is unique.  I added a few extra details (like the Silver Glimmer paper to make the stripes on his uniform reflective) and think he turned out "Totally Awesome" (ugh, somebody stop me...) LOL

Stamp sets: N/A
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink: Hello Honey, Night of Navy, Tangelo Twist, Wild Wasabi
Punches: Build an Owl, Build a Cupcake, 1/2" Circle, 3/8" Circle, 3/16" Corner, Window Label
Accessories: White Gel Pen, Basic Black marker, Sponges, Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue

Hope this little guy has inspired you to try your hand at some Lego punch art!  I'm hoping to add a few more characters to my line up and create a bigger project for my son - I have the idea of laminating them and creating a play mat of sorts.  Hopefully I can get the idea out of my head and onto the paper!  Stay tuned!

Until next time...

Wow...the moment I saw this, I thought, 'Awesome!'. What a great job you did making this look so authentic & bright. This is just so cute!!! I love it! (Love the movie, and Frozen, too...between those songs & 1D songs, my tween girls keep us all singing!)
