Happy Mid-Week!
I'm stopping by with a quick post today showcasing this simple Lego Ninjago Mask card. My son was invited to a birthday party for a friend and was determined I was to make a Lego Ninjago Ninja card. Normally I would have jumped at the chance to make a full out Lego Ninja figurine but I was pressed for time. I did a quick Pinterest search and found some pre-printed party invitations very similar to this card. I knew instantly I could re-create it with punch art!
The process is quite simple if you're interested in making your own Ninjago mask card.
- Begin with a Wild Wasabi (or color similar to the Ninja you'd like to represent) card base.
- Sketch the mask opening in the upper center of the card base and cut out using an e-xacto knife.
- Sponge the co-coordinating ink color around the outer edges of the card base and the mask opening. Using a sponge dauber "sweep" an almost dry sponge randomly across the base to create the look of folds in the mask.
- Add a piece of Crushed Curry card stock behind the mask opening, but before gluing into place, sponge Crushed Curry ink along the outer edges that will show through the opening to add a little dimension.
- Cut two 1"circles from Basic Black card stock and glue into place onto the Crushed Curry. Add a 1/2" Whisper White circle onto each Basic Black circle to highlight the eyes.
- The eyebrows are free hand cut. Don't worry about being perfect, just sketch them with a pencil first before cutting out and gluing down.
- With a Basic Black marker (using the fine tip) draw a line under each eye. Draw a quick squiggle pattern around the perimeter of the card front.
- Add a Wild Wasabi (or whatever color used for the card base) layer inside the front of the card to cover the Crushed Curry card stock.
See? Super simple!

You did a nice job on this. I had to make a ninjago for my grandson's birthday in Oct. It turned out cute. This is an easier version and just as nice. The green really looks like fabric. You did a great job on it.
