Thomas the Train Card in a Box

Happy Friday!

I have seen so many of these Cards in a Box cards being created by fellow demonstrators that I just had to try one for myself! Once you have the scoring dimensions, the basic box is really easy to put together leaving you with plenty of possibilities for decorating!  And perhaps the best part of this card design?  It folds completely flat so it can be mailed in a standard sized envelope!

Supplies:

Stamp sets: Make a Wish
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Marina Mist, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Brights DSP Stack, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party
Ink: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Midnight Muse
Punches: Modern Label, 1 1/4" circle, Owl, Cupcake, Extra Large Oval, Window Label, Small Oval, 1/2" Circle
Accessories: Island Indigo Baker's Twine, White Gel Pen, Chalk Marker, Window Sheet, Sponges, Mini Glue Dots, Snail Adhesive, Multi purpose liquid adhesive

There are many sizes that you can make these boxes but I chose to make mine to fit into a standard size envelope.  For basic dimensions I suggest visiting demonstrator Frances Martin's blog post - she also has a video that might help you out in the visual process!

As inspiration for my Thomas I used a punch art piece from Sharon White (a past SU! demo).  She made her's large enough to cover a card front so the punches I had to use had to be scaled down quite a bit but the overall concept and finished product is much the same.  The balloons were made to appear "floating" by simply adding a small strip of Window Sheet behind each balloon then attaching that to the card base dividers.
Here's a look at what the card looks like from the top so you can see my card dividers:

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Before I sign off I just had to share this photo taken by Greg Johnson, a local Tornado Hunter from Saskatchewan.  The Northern Lights were fabulous here a couple nights back and Greg was lucky enough to capture them then share it with us on his Facebook Page.

Aren't they spectacular?? I thought sharing this with you might help you understand where I get some of my inspiration from!  Immediately seeing this photo my fingers started itching to try re-create it LOL!  I'm so done with winter but boy oh boy it sure creates a superb light show!

Have you ever met God and felt his nearness in your life? By His elegance, I have. I need to impart to you my experience I had when I met God, knew the amount He adores me and felt His energy that surpasses thinking - In short this is My confirmation that God not just exists... regardless lives and He adores and thinks about every one of us.ed Thomas's deliverance from distress?
